It's been a long time since I last blogged, eh? Well, apologies earthlings for I've been busy with exams, field trips and labs (not to forget - games, lol). So, where should I start? Erm, how about right from the exam? Nah~ That'd be too boring~ Who'd like to heard about exams anyway? So let me start with with the field trip then~

We departed to Teluk Bahang with a bus.
From Teluk Bahang we hiked to Cemacs (Muka Head).

Kept our stuff.
Briefing on capture recapture-technique. (Using beans to do it)
Depart into our respective area to set traps. (Mine is in the forest)
Went out at night to the jetty and saw some bats flying around the trees.

Saw Macaca fascicularis stole a bag of biscuit. (Idk for which group)
Departed to the forest again to start our study on the first ecosystem.
Showed some apparatus to measure various parameters in the forest. (No photos)
Clinometer, Whirling hygrometer, Abney leveler, etc.
Start with setting quadrats.
After finish setting quadrats.... biscuit finished....T.T
Continue with study.
Studied leaves until headache. @.@
Soo Peng suggested using magnifying glass to see the veins. XD
Got back the traps, all empty.... Haiz....
After all done, almost 4pm.
Had lunch at 4pm.
Looked at the fox another group caught.
Scorpiowen invited to catch crab but got briefing for the next ecosystem after dinner.
Scorpiowen unhappy. =P (I didn't mean to)

Dealing with marine ecosystem today.
Followed the teacher walk around looking at the organisms found around the rocky beach.
Nodilittorina, limpet, thais, sea anemone, oyster etc.
OH! Saw a crab undergo ecdysis~ LIVE!
Looked at some plants (can't remember any of them anymore X_X)
Trilobia? maybe...
Did some parameter taking again. Got extra some apparatus.
Hand refractometer, sechi disc, dissolved oxygen meter, etc.
Start catching button snail from 3 different area of the sandy beach.
The last area - lower littoral area - strong waves! (Got all wet XD)
After lunch went to lab to do further study on the marine and beach ecosystem.
pH, microorganism ie. plankton, etc
After dinner had discussion with group members to settle the report for forest ecosystem.
Because of discussion can't go out catch crab again (sorry scorpiowen, lol)

Today, going to Sungai Tukun (Tukun River) for the obviously river ecosystem.
Another new apparatus introduced.
Lux meter, set of meter pole, ping pong ball and stopwatch to measure water velocity etc.
The teacher for this ecosystem, Mr. Hassan is a funny man who like to ask about religion.
He even stepped on top of a rock and talked to us like a messenger or the sort lol
The only ecosystem whereby we had to prepare a full report and pass up the very day.
I got to do the conclusion part.
Lucky me, that's the part the seniors didn't do, so no reference for me T.T
After dinner another briefing, this time for last ecosystem.
Mr. Nazri, the teacher is kinda sarcastic. >.<
But he has the license to keep animals of all sort (envious)
Before proceeding to next day, there's a secret at the river.

Last ecosystem - SOIL!
Raining today. So we waited a while.
Met the forest group on the way.
Mr. Hasli from the forest group joked that they have Coca Cola~ lol
Last day and I got pricked by thorn! Haiz....
Collected soils to bring back to lab and study.
At the lab, we played with the soil like kids~
Then photo session (because it's gonna be last day there)
At night we had barbeque~
Went crazy that night. hahahah~
Made Lake Ar Yin~ (no photo sorry)
Sat on the sand for some time until something larvae-like bit me.
Ar Yin got scared and decided to go back directly lol

The day had come at last - the day to go back to USM (also the day the secret is revealed)
Took more photos.
Hiked back to Teluk Bahang.
Once there, we saw some health officers.
My friend talked to them and jeng jeng jeng, discovered the secret.
The river is polluted and is closed to public. OMG! we played in the river.....
Anyway, we went to the museum look around.
There's a digital Muka Head lighthouse there. Visit if you can.
Then, Group B members came.
So we took photo with them.
Afterward, we depart to USM and had to stay in Fajar Harapan (literally translated as dawn of hope) dorm.
Nothing much to do for the day except prepare for tomorrow's lab.

First lab, Monera~
Drew some bacteria.
Mdm. Zarina was kinda strict.
"Too small!"
"It should be 3x the length of cocci!"
Bombed a few times.
Anyway, for our own good.
After lab, horror!
We only have one key for the dorm where two of us stay.
My roommate has the key and he's out.
He's trapped at Bali2 because of flash flood.
I'm trapped outside the room with no keys and can't leave for lunch because no umbrella and it's raining heavily. T.T (stomach growls)
Went to KFC to eat because that's the few accessible place after the flood.

Bronwyn, Maniarasi, Isaac and his girlfriend came to join us later.

This is longer because there are two parts, ie. seedless and seeded plants.
More drawings, of plants this time.
After lunch I came back to look at the plants before seeded plant section start and saw a bug on the plant.
No drawings to be shown because they are too beautiful to be displayed lol.
Took Plant vs Zombie game from my roommate and got addicted.
Played until very late. Consequence? Didn't prepare for the last lab...

Also separated to two parts, ie. Acraniata and craniata.
Drawing animals are harder than anything else.
Anyway, the longest lab as it ended at around 7 pm!
Ar Yin still haven't give up asking me to go to karaoke tomorrow.
Guess I'll just go then.

Went to Neway, Queensbay for karaoke with Bronwyn, Ar Yin and Scorpiowen.
Kinda weird since we don't even meet much during this two semester of studies.
Seems the field trip brought us together.
I can't sing.... T.T sound too soft, can't hear anything I sang at all....
After that went to Borders' Starbuck to study for the tomorrow's exam.
Had some frappucino.... (is that the correct spelling?)
For dinner went to Kim Gary. Ate set meal which looked like instant noodle.
"Maggie," Ar Yin kept on repeating.
Only after back at USM, we remember that we took no photo together for that weird combination of people.
Had a sore throat when I go back.

Exam was ok.
Not too hard, not too easy but wow, Soo Peng and Isaac can be so fast at doing the exam.!
Leaving the dorm now, can't live there too long.
Thanks to Edward for letting me stay at his place.
Today together with Edward, sent many people to the bus station.
Goodbye all, see ya all next semester.
Went out alone for dinner. Found the place but when going back....
I got LOST! I almost can't return to Edward's apartment. T.T Scary~ Luckily found way back in the end.

Saw group of people planning to hike mount Kinabalu.
Boring flight. Nothing to do. Sleep.
Reach KK, Sabah. Went to Courtyard hotel to stay the night.
They use electronic card-key.
Standard huh? Well, it's faulty.
We can't enter the room!
With some help later we got in. Haiz...
1 Borneo beside the hotel is big but I don't know what to look at.
