David Archuleta - Elevator

First heard of this song when it was posted by my ex-best-friend on facebook(Oh, btw, we're supposingly still friends just not the best of). His comment on the post was "Next time I'll get it right, Next time I'll be okay". Oh, the time he posted this song, we were already halfway caught up in the fight. Anyway, I think the lyrics are quite meaningful in the sense that life is sort of like an elevator. Sometimes we go up, sometimes we go down. At first I thought the difference between life and elevator is that life gets us up and down without us being in control whereas elevator does give us control over it. Then, I realize that actually, we have control over both, just that the degree by which we have control differs. We can easily control and elevator to our will. However, in life, whether we're up or down depends mostly on the surrounding. This is what some may say. Actually, being down is an emotion and thus is within our control, just that not as easily controlled as an elevator. We choose to be down or not. When life pulls us down, we have the choice whether or not to be dragged down. This notion is by far not something I've just learned. I've known it for a while, just that I've never implemented it in my life. I've always choose to be dragged around. I do wish that one day I'll be able to take full control of it. It will take time, I'm sure, but as long as I don't give up, one day, I'll be able to take control. To get there, I guess I'd have to first control my temper =.= and that's hard....
